Overview

The Imitation Game (Full movie workbook)

IT sphere

This Movie Workbook is perfect for IT students as it features the story of Alan Turing and Enigma.
The Workbook consists of 4 blocks:
1. Vocabulary, which is recommended to study before watching the movie. A mind map will help your students to analyze the vocabulary. There are tasks to put this vocabulary to practice (one task is personalized). This block can be used as a separate lesson plan.
2. Grammar: That's my students' favorite block because it boosts a profound discussion: Alan Turing and his team had to work in tough conditions, they had to make unbelievably difficult choices. That's why I've chosen modal verbs of obligation and recommendation "have to, must, and should" to help students express their opinion on this matter. First, they are supposed to learn and practise the rule in the IT sphere, and then they will be ready to discuss the movie. You can also use this block as a separate lesson plan.
3. Improving pronunciation. Alan Turing's dialogue about how machines think, if they think differently from humans seems the most impressive to me. Your students will be offered to practise shadowing (with teacher notes).
4 Writing. I hope that THIS writing will be exciting for your students because the problems raised in the movie won't leave anyone indifferent.
