Frankenstein
Grammar Worksheet on Past Simple vs Past Perfect based on the original book
I've created this explicit grammar worksheet for several reasons:
- to practise grammar Past Simple vs Past Perfect in a creative way. To me, it's a book about irresponsible playing with science and life. I see clearly how the wrong choices led to tragic consequences. That's why I believe, Past Simple vs past Perfect can illustrate this connection. (With key)
- to educate: as a lot of people nowadays don't really know the TRUE story of Frankenstein and the monster. I read the book in the original to pick up the main stages of their relationship and deliberately left the old-fashioned words and phrases to plunge the students into the original atmosphere. It feels like a mission to me to read and discuss this story every Halloween and break the stereotype imposed by horror movies. At the end of the worksheet, you will see some thought-provoking questions to discuss.
