So you’ve joined PrepYourLesson to put your old lesson plans to good use, but how do you make sure tutors can find them? Let’s talk about categorizing lesson materials and resources.
Why should I categorize lesson plans?
PrepYourLesson offers lesson plans for all kinds of students, classes, and subjects. That’s why categorizing the resources that you list is so important. In fact, it can directly influence the amount of views your resources receive!
By categorizing your lesson resources, other tutors can easily locate them and use them for their own lesson plans.
How do I categorize lesson plans?
To do this, add a title, tags, and a description for each resource. The title should describe the material in a few words; make it concise while still giving an idea of what the material covers.
Next, tag your lesson. Tags should be short, concise, and reflect the format and nature of the resource. For example, if your resource is a Powerpoint on Spanish travel vocabulary, you may add the following tags:
When tagging materials, make sure to avoid long, descriptive tags- that’s what the description section is for! If you feel that a couple of tags don’t fully reflect the complexity of your resources, you can add more detail to your description on the way that the material should be utilized. Don't worry if you have already posted your materials without tagging them -- you can always go back to your 'My Materials' page and make new edits!
