History will remember the 24th of February 2022 as the day Russia started its brutal and criminal invasion of Ukraine. But many Ukrainians will remember it as the day when they had to abandon their homes and flee for their life to avoid being shot, tortured, and robbed by the Russian invader.

Over 9 million Ukrainians were displaced internally, and an additional 6 million have left Ukraine to temporarily seek refuge in neighboring countries, bravely embracing the challenges that would face them abroad. Many of them don’t know when, and if they can return - homes of thousands of Ukrainians simply do not exist anymore.

For our team, Ukraine is home - even though we are spread across the world.

To help Ukrainian refugees we decided to postpone the official launch of PrepYourLesson, and focus our efforts to create Tutors4Ukraine – a platform that helps Ukrainians learn English or the language of their host country by connecting them with volunteer tutors from all over the world.

For Ukrainians, the importance of learning a new language cannot be overstated. It’s the first step to adapting to a new home and finding a new job. It also helps build closer relations with hosts, which will be invaluable to Ukraine in the aftermath of the war. Finally, with 30% of Ukrainian infrastructure destroyed and GDP projected to shrink by 35%, Ukrainians need language skills to access global markets like never before.

We help Ukrainian refugees learn the language they need to continue their education, have a job, and be included in the life in their new country of refuge. Join us!

How can I help Ukrainian refugees?

1. Willing to tutor a refugee? Volunteer your time to help a Ukrainian refugee learn a new language by joining our team of tutors at www.tutors4ukraine.org. You can choose the length of your commitment and we will support you along the way.

2. Have teaching experience? Help us train new tutors and provide them with teaching materials. To do so please email us at team@tutors4Ukraine.org.

3. Willing to support the effort financially? Tutors4Ukraine is a 100% volunteer project and does not accept donations at this time. Please support our partners at www.ukrainenow.org by donating or joining as a volunteer. UkraineNow is a 501c3, IRS approved non-profit organization, and has been providing support to thousands of refugees and other volunteer initiatives.

4. Looking to help Ukraine directly? Use www.u24.gov.ua - UNITED24 was launched by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy as the main venue for collecting charitable donations in support of Ukraine. Funds will be transferred to the official accounts of the National Bank of Ukraine and allocated by assigned ministries to cover the most pressing needs: defense and demining, medical aid, and rebuilding Ukraine.
